Collaboration with EGI
PL-Grid tasks in EGI
In the framework of cooperation with EGI, PL-Grid project is involved in:
- EGI-InSPIRE - through PL-Grid Partners’ contribution to:
- Global Tasks: 'Grid operation and oversight of the e-Infrastructure' as well as 'Coordination of resource allocation and of brokering support for NGI VOs',
- International Tasks (like all other NGIs),
- Computational Chemistry – organization and management of Computational Chemistry and Material Science and Technology Specialized Support Centre (CCMST SSC) and EGI liaisons,
- Development of unified middleware via European Middleware Initiative,
- Scientific application porting, especially concerning UNICORE architecture, within Application Porting SSC.
- EGI.eu council activities - among the current 7 members of the EGI.eu Executive Board there is a PL-Grid representative.

The PL-Grid project will be promoted at the exhibition stand held during the CGW'10 in Krakow, Poland, on 11-13 October 2010.
The article with information about PL-Grid was published in the first issue of the EGI-InSPIRE project's "Inspired" newsletter.
PL-Grid was advertised during the HPC 2010 workshop, in Cetraro, Italy, on 21-25 June 2010.
The Zeus cluster was 161st in the June 2010 edition of the TOP500 list. This cluster is part of the all-Poland grid infrastructure being created in the framework of the PL-Grid project.
Poland - as the first country in Europe - has initiated functioning of the National Grid Initiative (NGI).
